HINDI MOVIE REVIEW

I saw the hindi movie ROCK ON . This movie was directed by abhishek kapoor.

Farhan Akthar (FA) , a famous director plays a hero role for the first time. Songs

were so appealing . The lyrics written by Javed akhtar were awesome.This film also

has Arjun rampal (AR)whose performance was admired in DON AND OM SHANTI OM . Ok,

let us come into the story line.

The film can be considered as a musical flim. Four members , that is , FA , AR

and other two(purab kohli,Luke Kenny) form a band called “ magik” , because they

believe there is magic in their respectiveperformances which leave the audience

enthralled. FA is a singer , AR plays guitarist and the other two

play a drumster and keyboard. From the beginning to end, the spirit of the movie

is the same. They win a music contest and they get a chance to do a music album.

The music album contract could be signed if they agree to include a masla song , for

which they should neglect a song of their own.However, being the first album,

they sacrifice that. Three lady roles can be mentioned which are worth .First and

foremost is the lover (ater on FA leaves her) of FA . The second and third are FA’s

wife and AR’S Wife. In the middle , the album manager ( a man who manages when the

album is shot- I called him so) denies a request from the group that AR’S wife

could be the costume designer as she does it all the day . Then , comes the trouble

because the group has to compromise even the showcasing. AR complains to FA that

only FA is focused in the video and all the other are not concentrated. So, this

issue leads to a small fight in which AR hits the album manager and FA. This leads

to a break in “ MAGIK” . Everyone quits and the contract is withdrawn.


After that , everyone changes routes. FA becomes the manager of a

business firm, AR AND his wife earn by doing fish business. The other two , they did

not mention. However , it is a great Previllage in this movie that even female stars

perform better . FA’S wife dons the role with ease. She

has cute looks and acts naturally. When she comes to know about this band through

meeting the drumster and through his photos, the problem starts again. She wants to

know why FA is not open to her in that matter.Due to misunderstanding , she leaves

to her mother’s home(as every women does).


Then, they reunite in the place and forget the past . Because, this time FA is both

rich and influential.The movie does not end here. Here comes another hurdle. AR’S

wife (costume designer),says why all of a sudden FA has accepted to reunite ? This

can be justified.She says AR to go for a guitarist job separately which will fetch

him more money as he has talent . So, the contest begins for selection. Everyone

has come except , AR. So, FA decides to quit. But , the other two (drumster and

keyboard).Says it is because of the tussle between the two(FA AND AR), the event

becomes spoiled.You could also note one thing that the keyboard player suffers from

brain tumour and has a little life to live. So, they say, anyhow we will perfom.



The climax is taken with care and keeps the audience seated. While performing , AR

will be travelling With his wife to get a job which will fetch him decent money and

they will be hearing this music. AR ‘S wife wil ask him to stay , but he will be

stubborn , and he will join in the middle with the BAND magik.

And so the song will be a hit and they will get selected.

At, last the keyboard player will die due to tumour. AR’s wife will be a costume

designer. The drumster will start a music company in association with FA to promote

new talents.So.they will achieve their dream.


The ending in which they display this message ,” DON’T DOWNLOAD THE MUSIC, BUY THE

CD” is a good message and comedy. This movie is well organized and a treat to

watch.
